Our Open Meeting on 4th November was very successful. Notes about the meeting are now available . The OGA wishes to thank Dr Janet Goodall for leading a truly excellent and thought provoking session.
The PowerPoint presentation is available as a PDF Engaging ALL parents . Dr Goodall has also kindly shared the Report on the Pilot of a Toolkit for Parental Engagement (final) and the Parental Engagement Toolkit itself.
The final session of the morning was too short for in depth discussion but the questions that were asked may be found here Table Discussion questions and we would still welcome feedback from any Governors – even those who missed the meeting!
Our Spring Open meeting titled ‘Improving Schools in the Academy Age’ was held on Monday 5th March 2018.
The speaker was Dame Kate Dethridge Deputy Director supporting the Regional Schools Commissioner (RSC) for our area, North-West London and South-Central England, Martin Post. The notes from the meeting OGA Spring Open Meeting Notes Final.docx include two tables that may be of particular interest to Governors considering the option of becoming a converter academy on page 8 ‘What to consider when joining a MAT’ and on page 9 ‘Concerns: Lack of autonomy’.
Our Summer meeting held on Monday June 11th was another very successful event. Our speaker Dr Tony Eaude gave an interactive talk about ‘Going beyond the data: exploring what Governors need to know about Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development’. The meeting PowerPoint presentation may be of interest, there are also some summary notes OGA Open Meeting 11-06-2018. Other previous meetings may be found detailed in the relevant Academic Year.
